It’s Simple Really…

Aside

I can’t help but feel God is calling us back to simplicity.  Simplicity of relationship with Him.  Trusting Him, enjoying Him, communicating with Him. Following Him.  Simplicity of the Gospel.  Taking care of the orphans and the widows.  Feeding the hungry.  Giving to the poor.  Being His hands and feet.  Simplicity of relinquishment.  Letting go of our comfort for His glory.

Simplicity- the quality of being easy to understand or do.

Even though simplicity is a quality of being easy it is not always easy to accept.  In a society of hustle and bustle, instant gratification, and comfort we find our identity in our search for more rather than in our One True Love.

I see all our searching and comfort as some what of a shell we’re stuck in.  Kind of like a baby chick, we have to peck our way out of this shell.  It takes time and we have to work at it from the inside out but it is worth it.  Once that shell is gone we can see a clearer view of our True Love.  We can rely on Him more and feel His touch.  He wants us to experience Him face to face, not just from a distance but it’s extremely hard to do that when we are surrounded by the fullness of our material and fleshly desires.

It’s time to break down the roots we’ve planted in these false comforts and truly rest on the chest of our Love.
